Recently Dr. Niall Pender, Principal Clinical Neuropsychologist at Beaumont Hospital, was awarded sizable research funding to further investigate very specific neuropsychological processes thought to decline as a result of Motor Neurone Disease. This research will also investigate the prevalence of these deficits in people with Huntington’s disease. The funding for this research was awarded by the Irish Institute of Clinical Neuroscience (IICN), and also funds a Clinical Research Fellowship for Mr. Tom Burke – currently completing his PhD investigating cognitive decline in MND.
